Sacred Concerto after St. Francis of Assisi. Composed by Harald Genzmer. This edition: Sheet music. Downloadable. Duration 11 minutes. Schott Music - Digital #Q6615. Published by Schott Music - Digital (S9.Q6615).

German.

Harald Genzmer (1909-2007) is one of the most important German composers of the 20th century and contributed major works to the church and organ music repertoire. The present solo cantata after the famous 'Song of Brother Sun' by Francis of Assisi ('Most high, all-powerful, all good, Lord!') continues the great tradition of the solo cantata by Schütz, Telemann or Bach, with its theme being the praise of God as creator and protector of Earth. The vocal part is entirely in the service of a text that is interpreted with sensitive musical means. The rewarding organ part contains several solo passages. A valuable addition to the repertoire for religious concerts - marking the 100th birthday of Harald Genzmer on 07.02.2009.
