Although this was originally a piano piece, it works particularly well for clarinets, which give it an authentic ragtime 20s feel. The tune is shared amongst the 3 clarinets so that no-one has the "oompah" notes for too long. Meanwhile the bass clarinet holds things together and drives the music on. In short, everyone is important! (If necessary the bass clarinet part can be played on Bb clarinet).
