Brass Ensemble Cornet, Euphonium - Level 3 - Digital Download

SKU: A0.1001542

Composed by William Byrd (ca. 1540 - 1623). Arranged by Rita Arendz. This edition: audio, pdf. Easter, Renaissance, Sacred. 9 pages. Rita Arendz #6215927. Published by Rita Arendz (A0.1001542).

Byrd's "Haec Dies a3" setting is for a brass trio based on British Brass Band Instruments - Cornet, Tenor Horn, and Bb Euphonium.  This antiphon is challenging from the perspective of its contrapuntal style.  The parts are independent of each other, except for measures 13/14.  The ranges are not wide - Cornet C4-D5, Tenor Horn Bb3-Eb5, Euphonium Eb3-Eb4.  Originally for Cantus/Tenor/Bassus voices, this arrangement captures the quiet joy of Easter morning with brass's rich sounds.  There are alternate parts for French Horn and bass clef Euphonium.  Purchase includes transposed Score and parts.
