This arrangement is designed for a beginning student to play the PRIMO while the teacher or an intermediate student plays the SECONDO. All notes in the PRIMO are played singly with the hands in one position centered around middle C and then played one octave higher. Â
The original song has at least 9 verses, however, this arrangement only incorporates 4 unique melody-harmony combinations (though it is easy to repeat any of the sections if more verses are desired). This song is written in 6/8 time which will give new players experience with this less-common time signature and practice with a fun, new rhythm. Also, the PRIMO begins with playing the melody, then the melody moves to the SECONDO for 1 verse before concluding with the PRIMO on the final verses.
