Add a dash of the mysterious east to your repertoire with Tchaikovsky’s Arabian Dance. It makes for a beautiful violin and cello duet with a truly haunting quality. Both parts should be played expressively with close attention to dynamics. The cello plays an ostinato throughout most of the arrangement. This may seem repetitive at first but it’s vital to the piece and very enjoyable to play when performed rhythmically and sympathetically to the violin. This arrangement is suitable for both teacher and student workouts and short concert performances. Enjoy!
