Ode to Joy is one of the most famous melodies of Ludwig van Beethoven as well as of all classical music. The tune is extracted from the last movement of his Symphony no.9 and is a suitable piece for recitals, ceremonies, and other special occasions. The following arrangement is for three violins and piano (with a special Easy Violin part using open strigns) and allows the performers to play in a number of combinations:
Solo (violin I) with piano Duo (violin I and II) with piano Trio (violin I, II, and III) with piano Quartet (violin I, II, III, and Easy Violin) with piano Unaccompanied duet Unaccompanied trio Unaccompanied quartet
Included are the piano and violin scores as well as an optional viola part to replace violin III and a second version of violin I written an octave lower (no low second fingers).
