Composed by Angus MacLellan. Arranged by Stephen Smith. This edition: audio, pdf. A Cappella, Celtic, Folk, Irish, Multicultural, World. 2 pages. Stephen Smith #878262. Published by Stephen Smith (A0.1287248).

Angus MacLellan (1878-1963) wrote this song about Margaree Island in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, where he was the lighthouse keeper for 34 years. This SATB a cappella arrangement was written for the Vancouver Gaelic Choir's August 2000 tour of Nova Scotia. It is published here with a poetic and singable new English translation, in hopes that more choirs will add this haunting tune to their repertoire.

This product was created by a member of ArrangeMe, Hal Leonard’s global self-publishing community of independent composers, arrangers, and songwriters. ArrangeMe allows for the publication of unique arrangements of both popular titles and original compositions from a wide variety of voices and backgrounds.
