Waltz of the Goblins is a dramatic work for the developing string orchestra that uses some of the darker tones and moods of the ensemble. Set in B minor, the music should flow with a certain devilish quality. It should represent a Halloween ball or masquerade party. Picture the kind of music that goblins would dance to, and that is the feeling I am going for.A briefxa0pizzicato introduction leads smoothly into the main theme at m.11. Bring out the rich and dark sonority of the G string in the violins. The celli and basses take over the melody at m. 27, which acts like a B section to the main melody.
